Since we have been on a hiatus for a couple of weeks, I thought it might be a good time for a recap. The party has made some serious discoveries and added to the plot in impactful ways as well. I will attempt to start at the beginning and create a summary for major points. Reading the sections that you feel unclear about might be helpful. Also, feel free to add to this.
Keeper’s Port
THE WEDDING PLOT:
Roc was being blackmailed by a Sir Silas, he and Justinia concocted a plan to fake their death during a marriage ceremony. They hid out in the cliffs and were awaiting passage on the Addam’s Trading Ship to start a new life on the New Continent. Sir Silas was trying to take over the Channel theater. Suspicious of Roc’s death and thwarted in his ownership of The Channel’s Business by Vey’Hanna. Sir Silas had his henchmen brutally torture Chandler Heartstone, Roc’s true love, to uncover the couple’s hiding spot. He was planning to arrest the couple for fraud. The party killed Sir Silas and his henchman and found the couple, fully solving the wedding mystery. Sir Silas, aside from his shady dealings in organized crime, also was the Sargeant of Arms for the City Watch. Before his demise, he had the port closed and the harbor blockaded in order to keep the fugitive couple from running. The party then helped the couple to escape Keeper’s Port by fighting an epic sea battle with their ship Hayden’s Serpent. It was during this battle that the party lost track of Telempe. The last known living member of the Lords of the BArricade was last seen in dragon form battling the boats that were attempting to block the party’s escape.
THE LORDS OF THE BARRICADE
The party discovered a series of caves in the Crimson Cliffs that had once been the hideout of the Lords of the Barricade. Bankrolled by Constantine Westergard, the “Lords” included highly skilled individuals whose main enemy appeared to be the Coin and Crown Trading Company. They attacked their ships, stole their cargo, and spread rumors in attempts to ruin the Company and keep them from setting up a permanent trade route to the New Continent. Upon achieving thier goal, some of the “Lords” left for Ajagara, but Constantine, who was left to close up the remaining business, was murdered in the Caves. The Party understands that Caedus, Gwenn, and Ebron have some sort of connection with the “Lords,” but questions still remain. The party has uncovered their motives however, as Telempe has made it very clear that the connection between The Realms and Ajagara must be severed! Although some reasons are apparent (ie-explotation, slavery, conquest), questions amongst the party still remain.
THE ADDAMS TRADING COMPANY
The company has built a behemoth of a boat, The Oliphant II. This vessel is larger than anything ever seen on water. The party uncovered arcane ruins on her hull and weapons of destruction in her hold. Amongst the cargo was military equipment, battlewagons (like the one that took down Telempe), cages, and room for a large amount of crew and/or passengers. The party knows that the boat is headed for the New Continent and was attempting to beat them to Ajagara to warn the inhabitants of the impending onslaught. The party discovered that boats were being guarded by the Army of Keepers Port, under the auspices of the Marquis of the Marches, Idris Protherio. The Marquis’ token was also found on the dead Drow drug dealer who was attempting to sell “shell” to party members.
LORD TEO EASTERLY
Lord Teo attempted to hire the party to keep the Addam’s trading company from journeying to Ajagara. He wined, dined, and gifted them with very specific host gifts. The party did not get a good feeling from him and declined to take him up on his offer. Lord Teo then turned to the mercenary group, The Falcons of Starfall. They also attempted to hire a young priest of Church of the Crossroads Matthius. Matthius reported that the mercenaries were fairly productive at first, but then wanted nothing to do with the job when they discovered the Army was involved. The Party recently discovered that Lord Teo may be the missing Teotlay, betrayer of Sevna, and creator of the City of Black Stone.
IRONTOWN CLAN
This gang ran most of the crime in the Favella of Keeper’s Port. They also formerly owned Po as a slave on the Fighting Barge that the gang runs illegally out in the Harbor. The party encountered them hiding out in the Stone Cottage and killed about 25 of their members. The party discovered Po was being tailed by Peeps. Po also fears that Kranka, the elf that runs the gang, has a contract out her.
BACKGROUND PLOT THREADS
As these are private to each of the characters, we will leave this alone…for now.
THE MARID
The party’s landing on the new continent triggered a vortex. The party discovered that the vortex was being created by a Marid, who had been bound by a geas. In exchange for their boat’s safety, they promised to find the artifact that enslaved the Marid and free him. The party accomplished this and got a wish granted. They also learned that at the 3 other compass points of Ajagara there were other genies bound as well. These genies had all been bound in the Summoning Chamber found in the Temple of the Winds.
THE TREE CITY OF THE ELVES
High in the canopy, the party discovered a clan of elves that have adapted to live their whole lives in the trees of jungle of Ajagara. They have a complex culture that the party has begun to try to understand. They witnessed burial rites and Gwenn was almost accidentally betrothed to an elf named Jandar. They have parted ways as allies, and Roc a’Danesh and Justinia Pryce have been left in their care.
THE YUAN-TI
The once-great Yuan-Ti civilization lives deep within the Jungle of Ajagara. These snake people attempted to capture the party while they journeyed up river. Fortunately, the party was able to beat them back and offer the Yuan-Ti’s Overlord, a green dragon named Achuak her egg back in exchange for safe passage. The silver dragon Orn, called by Dragon Fyre, forced the dragon and yuan-ti to honor the deal. The Party was given a Yuan-ti guide and they were able to pass through the territory unmolested.
THE CITY OF BLACK STONE
The party discovered that an eon ago, the city was called Breith. It was established by a group of powerful magic wielders that worshiped the Elements. There was a catastrophic event that blackened the center of the city, turning it into some sort of life and light sucking void. The party met a Revenant that was waiting for a being named Teoatlay to return. She believes him to be the one that caused the massive destruction. The party believes that Lord Teo is Teoatlay and that he has relocated in Keepers Port. The party’s last decision was to use their wish to restore the Revenant to life. There are still many questions waiting to be asked and answered.
